ANimo Urban Sketchers 2012/13

First Thursday sketch off campus.  @Abbott Kinney.   It was a great day on Abbott Kinney!  After a short walk from school and some last minute instructions the students moved off to draw on location.  Student upload day is scheduled and coming soon.

We also chose our officers with Gabi Sarni (12th grade) as Club President and Cloe Nomic (10th) as club VP!

We have an amazing group this year!

Graduation.

On our last outing before school ended I had the students practice an exercise that I learned at the USK Symposium in Lisbon last year.  We rotated through each others sketchbooks every couple of minutes.  This is my sketchbook as completed by Carla, Cloe, Gabriel, Tyler, Jose, and others.

It was with great pride and honor that I watched as Animo Urban Sketchers first President graduated on June 7th.  Carla will be attending college and continuing to sketch.  I'm sure she'll guest artist with the AVCHS USK group when back in town during breaks. I am looking forward to her future participation at a Symposium.

On March 8th the Ánimo Venice Urban Sketchers hosted guest Urban Sketch Marcia Milner-Brage from Iowa and the Midwest group!

It was a wonderful opportunity for the high school sketchers to meet an experienced Urban Sketcher!
